Castle Creek – Austin TX – This heavy cotton tee has the classic cotton look and feel. Casual elegance will make it an instant favorite in everyone’s wardrobe.
During the ‘70s Castle Creek was a 285-capacity listening room on Lavaca that was integral in Austin’s burgeoning music scene. Jerry Jeff Walker, Townes Van Zandt, Earl Scruggs, Jimmy Buffett, Doug Kershaw, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Willie Nelson, John Prine and Jackson Browne were just a few of the eventual big name artists that graced that stage.
Castle Creek (1970-1976) was owned by Austin piano player Doug Moyes in partnership with music entrepreneur Tim O’Conner. The venue was named after an area near Aspen where Moyes had camped a couple years earlier.
O’Connor left Castle Creek in ’74 to work fulltime for Willie and the club closed for good in 1976.
