Valhalla has been a staple on Red River since it opened it’s doors in 2009.  Originally the concept was a neighborhood bar where music lovers would go before and after live music shows.  A few years later a kitchen was added that served great deli food and burgers.

Recently as more and more venues started to close, Valhalla added a stage to help keep live music on Red River. After over a decade Valhalla keeps changing but  holds true to the ideas of old Austin and the Red River Historical District music tradition.

Valhalla was developed in partnership by Seth Levy and John Wickham (Elysium Austin).  Seth has been a long time member of Austin’s local bar music venue scene since 1995 starting at Flaming Cantina, then Room 710, Elysium and then finally teaming with John and Marcos from Elysium to launch Valhalla in 2009.
