The Venue: The Mohawk is one of Austin’s live music giants. The intimate inside bar and spacious outdoor venue is located in the heart of Austin’s legendary Red River Cultural District. It’s an eclectic blend of live emanating from this storied venue, from big name touring artists to anarchy wrestling and beard competitions, the entertainment spectrum is expansive.
The Artist: Cat Barrera is an illustrator born in the Texas Hill Country. Daughter of Mexican immigrants her travels between The United States and Mexico have greatly influenced her art.
Her love for anime and cartoons sparked her interest in drawing at a young age leading to painting and finally settling into the digital world of art. She pursued an associates degree in Graphic Design from Austin Community College and currently freelances as an illustrator and self taught animator. Cat’s art has been used and displayed as poster art in various music venues throughout Austin, Texas where she currently resides.
